Hanging out!

This pic is too precious not to post!

This is actually how I discovered him...He had pulled up onto the blinds and was holding on for dear life. I hate that we didn't get his face, but Phillip had to snap it very quickly!

We made our first trip to the park today! He loved the swings!

Swinging beside Karoline and thinking he's a big boy! He also enjoyed playing in the mulch/dirt. He was filthy!

Look closely at the collar of this shirt-it was Phillip's from when he was a baby. I actually thought it was bigger, so I never put it on him. I realized that it's a 6-9 mos, so it was way too small. His little belly was poking out of the bottom! At least we snapped a few pics of it!

He loves bath time! Just recently we've let him start just playing in the tub. He loves to splash (see the bottom picture).

Sweet time

Dear Parker,
Tonight I put you in bed a little late. I knew I shouldn't let you stay up, but you were having so much fun playing that I couldn't stand to put you down yet. When I finally did put you down, you immediately pulled up so you were standing in your bed, and then you began to throw a fit....I'm talking a MAJOR fit. I let it go on for a few minutes, then I went in to check on you. I picked you up, loved on you, and laid you back down. You immediately started the fit again and pulled up to standing position. Now usually I just let you "cry it out"...but tonight, you were having a major meltdown. I'm talking screaming at the top of your lungs, hanging over the side of your crib....very uncharacteristic of you. I finally went back in there and when I picked you up, you immediately stopped crying. We sat down in the rocking chair, and you laid your head on my shoulder. You were so sleepy, buddy, you could barely keep your eyes open. Your face was facing away from me, but you began to turn your head toward me and smile.....yes, smile. Then, to top it off, you started giving me kisses. I am not making this up. You started kissing me...then, you would lay your head facing away, and keep turning toward me...it was like you were checking to make sure I was still there. I am so glad I didn't let you keep crying...I'm so glad I went in there and picked you up. I wouldn't trade that moment for anything in the world. All I could think was, you have my heart, buddy. It's yours...for the rest of my life, it's yours.
I love you,
Mommy

Parker's pics!

We had Parker's pics done a few weeks ago (on our anniversary), and here are a few of our faves! Stacy at http://www.clouddustphotography.com/ did an amazing job! I seriously couldn't have asked for any more perfect pictures to capture his personality. (And yes, she did give me permission to post these!) You can also check out her blog on my blog list-"The Lady Behind the Dust". I was so pleased that she captured his BLUE eyes! Most people don't realize they are that blue!

Just hangin' with my BFF

Parker actually got to hang out with one of his BFF's two days in a row! We managed to snap a few pics of the two monkeys, but it sure is getting harder to get good pics of the 2 together! I'm pretty sure that in this pic, Parker had just gently patted Zane. My child would never hit his friend! :) Parker is definitely learning how to interact with other kids. They had a showdown under the dining table and I'm pretty positive Parker hit him like 3 times right in the face. He's only 10 mos. old, so surely he's not doing it to be mean? Please notice how Zane is leaning AWAY from Parker here.

Mommy, I am NOT taking a nap! I'd rather pull up on my crib!! Doesn't that 25 min. nap in the car on the way back from Zane's count as my usual 2 hour nap?

Helping Mommy get ready

I had a very active little boy help me get ready for church yesterday! He started out by discovering the toilet paper roll! As you can tell by the picture, this provided several minutes of entertainment!

After the toilet paper got old, he moved to the drawers. Yes, he is eating the knob.
Then, I started to blow dry my hair, so he had to be right there assisting! He likes the sound of the blow dryer, so he stayed there for a few minutes and watched.

Before he left the bathroom, he discovered his reflection in the cabinet! He was kissing it, but the only pic I got of him doing that was blurry!
Having a crawler definitely changes the way I get ready! It sure does keep things interesting!

Our happy boy

I just had to post this video. Tonight we were standing in the kitchen discussing how 6 years ago we were laying on the beach on our honeymoon. All of a sudden, we remembered Parker..we turned around and this is what we saw watching us! My, how times have changed! Thank you, Jesus! Thank You, Thank You, Thank You!

Also, you'll realize that I didn't know he was filming until about 26 seconds into it! Also, notice the way he squeezes his eyes shut! Too cute!

Having fun!

March came in like a lion at the Petty house! We've been going nonstop since last week!
This past Saturday was our 6 year anniversary! We spent the day getting Parker's pictures done by Stacy at Cloud Dust Photography. Check her out at www.clouddustphotography.com. We've seen one pic on Facebook, and it's perfect! I can't wait to see the rest. If you would have told us on March 6, 2004 that we'd be spending our 6 year wedding anniversary getting our 9 month old baby boy's pictures made, we would have gotten a big kick out of that! But, we couldn't think of a better way to spend the day. Then we let the grandparents, aunt, and cousin keep him while we went to a quick dinner. However, we were so tired by the end of the day, that we came back after dinner and all were in bed by 9 pm!!!

Anyway, here are some pics of Parker. He's finally getting the self-feeding thing down!
On a side note, he said "Ma-ma" clearly to me today while I was unloading the dishwasher! Also, on the way home from Jordan's, he said, "Bye-bye". He's getting very, very, very vocal! He's talking ALL the time!

The weather today was beautiful! We spent the afternoon outside! He loved picking the grass.

(I just realized how bad he's flooding in these pants! They're brand new, so hopefully they're just riding up and he's not outgrowing them already!)

We're reading "Llama, Llama Mad at Mama". Llama gets mad at Mama when they have to go to the Shop 'O Rama. Parker and I were getting ready to go to Wal-Mart. I read it with the hopes of him learning a lesson (i.e. not to throw things out of the shopping cart like Llama does).
