Happy Birthday, Phillip!

Happy Birthday, Phillip! Enjoy the last year in your 20s! We love you so much! You are truly the best Dad ever!! Thank you for everything you do to help with Parker. I couldn't do it without you-seriously, I couldn't!
I love it when Mom sings Happy Birthday to Dad! It's so funny!

This was at 4:30 the other morning. Parker decided he'd rather play with Dad than go to sleep. I think he missed him because we were gone to Texarkana for 2 days without Daddy.

Latest Stats

We took Parker for his 2 month check-up/shots today. He weighed 12.1 lbs and is 24.25 inches long. I think he was 83rd percentile for height and 47th percentile for weight. Anyway, I think he passed his tests..he smiled and flirted with the nurse practitioner and showed her how well he's doing on his tummy. He did scream after the shots, but Phillip quickly handed him to me, and I nursed him until he calmed down. I had worked myself up so much for it that it really wasn't as bad as I thought it was going to be. He was really ok after he finished nursing. Hopefully he'll continue to do ok throughout tonight!
Asleep in Daddy's arms-one of his favorite places to be because his Daddy will hold him while he sleeps...I put him in his bed!

This is before church this week. Notice the raised eyebrow..this is new. I'm sure he's thinking, "Seriously, Mom, why do you make me wear these things?" Yes, I am that mother who puts her son in smocked outfits, and I will make no apologies for it. Phillip wore clothes like this when he was little, and he turned out perfectly fine. I am a firm believer in making little babies look like babies for as long as you can! I did joke with Phillip and tell him that he'll probably be the biggest bully in the nursery because the other little boys will be wearing overalls and he'll be dressed in a smocked outfit and knee socks...so he'll probably have to learn to defend himself at an early age!

2 months

I can't believe Parker turned 2 months old yesterday! This summer has really flown by. He is such a good, happy baby. Here are a few stats:
  • He is eating about every 2.5-3 hours. He usually eats for the last time around 8-9 pm and then sleeps until around 2-3 am. He eats and usually goes right back to sleep until around 6 am. So, he's waking up about 1 time each night-not too bad!
  • His routine is: eat, play, sleep, play...and then it repeats. His naps vary-anywhere from 20 minutes to an hour.
  • He is such a happy baby! He loves to play on his activity mat-he will just lay there and kick and grin. He is also pretty happy when he wakes up-he loves to lay in his bed and kick.
  • He is still pretty much wearing 0-3 months in most clothes, but he can wear 3-6 in some things..only because of length, though.
  • He is getting to where he can look directly at us and smile back at us. This is the best thing in the world!!! He will grin and kick when we talk to him-I LOVE IT!!!!
  • He LOVES bath time!
  • He likes to be held facing outward, so he can see what's going on.
  • He usually calms down if you take him outside-such a little boy!
  • He's recently discovered himself in the mirror and thinks it is hilarious!
  • I'm not sure of his weight-we go for shots next week. At 6 weeks he was 10.10 with a wet diaper....

I know you can't tell it, but we are so in love with him!!

Every southern boy needs John Deere stuff!

Help, Mama! I'm falling!

This is an outfit of Phillip's from when he was a baby. Parker wore it to church on Sunday and looked pretty handsome if I do say so myself!

Playtime!

Here are a few pics of Parker playing on his tummy time mat and on his new activity center. He's getting really good at tummy time-I can't believe how well he's holding up his head! He doesn't really mind it that much, as long as you catch him during one of his happy moods.
What are those fish doing in there???

1st trip to church

Parker took his 1st trip to church yesterday. He did pretty well...when we got to Sunday School, he started getting fussy, so we took turns walking him around outside to get him to sleep. Phillip got him asleep, came back to the classroom, and then we took turns holding him. We decided to be brave and go to the service, and we almost made it to the greeting time! We had a band playing in church with loud drums, and it didn't faze him at all...I guess all that vacuum cleaner noise is starting to pay off! He let out a little yelp, so we packed it up and headed home. All the people around us had the biggest smiles as they watched us quickly pack up and leave. I'm sure they were thinking, "Yeah, we've been there before." We're thinking next week we might actually make it to the offering....He looked adorable in his outfit! I didn't realize how big the collar was until I looked at these pics! He got alot of compliments on how sweet he looked! He couldn't wear shoes, though, because his newborn church shoes were too small! His feet are huge!

Parker had a little lamb...

...little lamb, little lamb...Parker had a little lamb...you get the idea!

I LOVE this sleeper, and I couldn't resist a picture of him in it before he grows out of it! I usually don't put hats on him since he's a summer baby, but we had to wear the matching one for the picture!

Happy Baby

Lately Parker has really started to grin and really respond to us. He's always in a really good mood after he eats (aren't we all?)....
Here are some pics of our sweet, happy baby. It's so amazing to see how much he changes every day. He's becoming much more responsive and aware of what's going on around him. He's pretty much gotten into a routine..he eats, we play or read or do some type of "activity", and then he naps. He loves to go on walks, take baths, and hang out on his changing table. While on his changing table, he loves to read the Bible verse on the wall-"Sons are a heritage from the Lord.." Psalms 127:3. This is the verse we've declared for him. Anyway, life is really good around here!

One of the few pics of us as a family..

Look at his big eyes!!!

Daddy's Helper

The other night Parker spit up, so I had Phillip go change him while I was cooking dinner. When they came back into the kitchen, this is what he was wearing! I think Phillip has secretly been dying to put this on Parker ever since some sweet friends in our Sunday School class gave it to us! If you look closely, you'll see the onesie has a tool belt on it....

The next step is teaching him how to mow the yard.....
