More fun with Babe

A few "babe" quotes from yesterday...
While waiting outside Dr. Fulks office for Babe to get finished, Parker started yelling, out of the blue I might add, "Babe, where are you? Babe! Where are you, Babe?"

After a small discipline issue..."Babe, 'dop 'pankin' me."
And one of my favorites..."That's my Babe!"

Introducing Babe!

See the big guy on the right? That's Babe. Apparently I call him Babe a whole lot because that's now what Parker calls him.

Babe is a lot of fun. Especially when you've been with your mommy all morning and you're tired of her. Babe's even better because he does exactly what Parker tells him to do like, "Sit right down." and "Cheese. I want to cheese!"
But we don't appreciate Tulip trying to get into the "cheese" with he and Babe.

Fun with cousins

We've kind of made a summer tradition of Lily coming to "keep" Parker with Gigi. This is the 3rd summer she's come up with Mom to help out. This year Abby got to join in the fun. They were so good! The girls had him using the potty-no accidents at all that day! I can't wait until they're old enough to stay for a week or longer!
Whenever Will learns to sleep through the night (consistently) he can come, too!

Shaving Cream fun!

Just add a few drops of food coloring to the shaving cream and have fun! Don't worry, it rinses right out of clothes. We got the water hose out after and had fun with that, too!

I love...

This sweet puppy dog....

This sweet two year old who can be found quietly reading a book. He'll stop in the middle of playing, grab a book, and sit down to read it.

I love big blue eyes and jon-jons.

And I really love these two boys. Their smiles explain why.

Sleep Tight

These are the things I had to get out of his bed after he fell asleep tonight...not including the 2 blankets he has in there. He's very particular about what he wants in the bed. He'll name a specific car that he wants, and that car may be across the house, but you still have to search until you find just the right one. He has about a million dump trucks, but if he has a specific one in mind, he won't rest until you find it.
And in case you're wondering, that is a very heavy "P" that belongs on his shelf. He has a slight obsession with it.

Pretend Play

We made a road out of my books. We set up the road signs and he'd drive his dump truck and cement mixer through the signs.

Here he's searching for Captain Hook.

Also, so I don't forget, apparently we have a pesky dragon that lives in our house. Yep, this dragon has made itself right at home. It pretty much stays in Parker's closet, but it does come out during the day. We'll be playing and all of a sudden he'll whisper, "I hear a dragon." Then you have to scream, and he'll run and jump in your lap. When you ask where the dragon is, he'll say, "It's in my closet." This never gets old. Ever. Oh, and sometimes it gets in my car, too. He'll say, "Dragon, get out mommy's car!" Love, love, love it! Of course we all encourage it.

Summer School (sort of)

Parker is at such a fun age right now! You can really teach him anything. His wonderful babysitter does an amazing job of teaching him things, but since he's only there one day a week during the summer, I am afraid he might regress while he's home with me all summer. And since I am an educator, I have no excuse for not working with him! I decided to set aside about an hour a day of structured play time for him to keep up his skills and learn new things. So far we've had a great time! Here are some pictures of what we've done lately.

These D0-A-Dot markers are so cool! Here he's practicing matching the circles on his A page. He was pretty good at it. :)

Of course he has to try them out on his fingers, too.

Here we practiced hammering our alphabet. He recognizes all of his letters, so this was just an idea from a list Amy S. gave me. I'd just ask him where a letter was, and he would hammer it. Since he's into building stuff, this was fun for him!
