Christmas season is here

We met our friends at the Christmas parade this past week, and all the kids (and adults) had tons of fun! 

 Parker loves baby Seyler! 

Here he was acting out the scene from Toy Story 3 where the toys are falling into the fire. 

It was right about here that I leaned forward and said, "Look, the band instruments have lights on them." He replied, "Mom, can you go sit somewhere else?" 

REJECTED

Yesterday we spent time with my sweet friends from college. I hate that I didn't get a picture of all the kiddos. Logan and Ana Bella are smiling so nicely, but for some reason Parker looks like he's in pain. 

When he grows up....

On the way home from Awanas tonight, Parker told me he wanted to be an ice cream man. "You know like the one who drives the truck by our house? He plays music and says, 'Hello!'' 

Thanksgiving 2012

We started our break with a visit to the new Dunkin' Donuts that opened. Parker approved! 

After that, we headed to the grandparents house. We missed Marmee and Poppa, but they were spending time with sweet baby Caroline.  We spent lots of time with our sweet cousins.

And this was actually after our break. Parker likes to walk around the neighborhood and look at all the Christmas decorations.

Every year at Thanksgiving at my parents' house, we have to go around and tell what we're thankful for. This year, Parker said he was thankful for Batman. He's a deep thinker.....

She's absolutely beautiful, and we can't wait to meet her at Christmas! 

All to myself

Last weekend, Phillip and his friends went away for a guys weekend. That meant I got Parker all to myself! He's such a big daddy's boy, so it was kind of nice to get all his attention! We had such a wonderful time, especially considering it was a 3 day weekend for me. Barri, Dayle, and the kids came over on Friday to play, and on Saturday we hung out with Aunt Meredith. It was such a fun, fun weekend, and I felt completely refreshed heading into the week!

"Injuries" aka Energy

Lately Parker has become very in tune with his "injury" energy level. For example, when he wants an extra snack, he'll say, "Mommy, look (while sucking in his tummy). I need some injuries. See, I'm all out of injuries. I need a snack."

We spent last weekend with both sets of grandparents and cousins. We had such a fun time, and we always hate to head back to reality!

Somehow I neglected to get any pictures with Marmee and Poppa. I'll be sure to get some the next time we see them.

What we do

I often think back to when Parker was a baby and wonder, "What did we do all day?" You know..back when he was little and not mobile. I know one day he'll be all grown up and too cool to hang out at home with Mom and Dad...and because I know it's only a matter of time before that happens, I want to enjoy every minute of our time with him at home. So...here's what we do when we're home all day.

Jethro

I've written about Jethro before...he's the character Parker likes to tell stories about. He's always getting in to trouble and doing things little boys shouldn't do. His dog's name is Tulipena or Julepena, depending on the story. Sometimes he's Parker's alter ego. This was Parker's Jethro story before nap today....as told from him:

"And one day there was this little boy named Jethro. Jethro asked Mommy if he could go poo poo. Mommy said yes. Jethro sat on the big boy potty. He fell in and went down the hole! Tulipena came and got Jethro's daddy. Jethro's daddy yelled, "Jethro, where are you?" Jethro said, "I'm down here in this hole!" Jethro's daddy got his fishing pole and got him out and kissed him."
