My buddy

Parker's bff Zane came to play this past week. They had alot of fun! Parker sat in his bumbo most of the time and just stared at Zane. Kind of scary to think Parker is already watching every move Zane makes!
Zane decided Parker's polka dotted socks were absolutely ridiculous, so he took them off for him! Phillip didn't get any pics of that, but Sarah posted some on her Facebook page.

Mom, please don't make me share Cubbie Monkey with him.....

If I grab that lion......

This is what happens!

Hey..what are you doing in my mommy's lap??

These poor kids, they have no choice but to be friends....

Meeting Aunt Anna and Uncle Brenden

Parker finally got to meet his Aunt Anna and Uncle Brenden! He was really sweet and smiled and played with them all afternoon!

Girls weekend (plus Parker)

Phillip and the guys headed out of town this weekend to hang out before Baby Truett arrives! So, my sisters, mom, and niece came to keep me company! (Really they just came to see Parker!) We had a great weekend. I really appreciate Meredith spending the night with me while Phillip was gone. I just wasn't quite ready to stay alone with Parker overnight! We had a great weekend. I wish we all lived closer to each other.
Hanging out...he looks so content here because he was held the entire time!

Help me!
Aunt Mere stole all his kisses!

Abby loves Parker! She wanted to hold him the entire time (when she wasn't chasing Tulip).

Please notice that their hair is the same color!

Abby and Tulip kept each other entertained...

3 months old

Where did the summer go? I can't believe he's 3 months old!

Here are some things we want to remember at 3 months:

  • He is still waking up 1 time a night. The dr. suggested we eliminate the night feeding by 4 months, but I've gotten some good advice from friends (thanks, Amy!), so this working mom is about to cut it off earlier!
  • He can roll from belly to back really well!
  • He still LOVES baths! If he's fussy, you can put him in the bath, and he immediately calms down. He'll just stare at you while you bathe him....so sweet!
  • He is holding his head up like a champ!
  • He can sit really well with support. He's even started leaning forward in his car seat and in his swing.
  • He is loving the swing.
  • He is really a happy, happy baby. He is pretty easy to entertain. Sometimes he just doesn't like to be held. He'd rather be in his swing or just hanging out on his activity mat.
  • He is starting to notice Tulip.
  • He loves for his belly to be kissed. Seriously, it never gets old for him.
  • He is really starting to notice us. He'll watch us until we smile at him, and then he breaks out into a huge grin!
  • He is laughing now! It is the SWEETEST sound I've ever heard.
  • He's getting much better control over his hands. He's grabbing his toys and putting them in his mouth. He can really be entertained with a burp cloth!
  • He really is a good baby. There was a time I wouldn't have said that, but in the past few weeks he's really calmed down!

Puppy Love

Look closely at Parker's shirt-it has a Golden Retriever on it! I have been dying to put him in this since Zane Bell gave it to him at his baby shower. Also, pay attention to the look on Parker's face as he really studies Tulip. I'm sure he's thinking, "What in the world are you? Are you a person or what?" Notice the placement of my hand on Tulip. As you can tell, she is not camera shy!

Week of firsts

This past week was a very busy week for Parker! He got to experience several "firsts" this week:
  • 1st time to stay with non-family members. Dayle and Karoline kept him last Monday. Dayle said he was good, but I seriously doubt she'd tell me if he was bad!
  • 1st time to roll over from tummy to back. He's gotten really good and consistent with this! Oh, and apparently it's a big deal when they start doing this because I forgot to mention it to my mom and oldest sister.......oops....
  • 1st time to stay in the church nursery!
  • 1st time to meet the ENTIRE extended Petty clan.
  • 1st play date with Pratt Fulks

Here are some pictures from the week.

This one's for you, Pratt! I love my "Llama, Llama Red Pajama" book! Thank you!!

This is what Phillip discovered after a nap one day. He looks like he's wearing a toga!

Proof for Aunt Mere that we do lots of tummy time! Look how good he is, Aunt Mere!

Memaw

Phillip's sweet grandmother passed away last night. She had been sick for a while, and she was really ready to go home and meet Jesus. She was truly an amazing Christian woman and an inspiration to all of us. Even in death, she maintained an amazing Christian attitude. While Phillip was there visiting her for the last time, she was praying, and one of her prayers was that someone would be saved that day. Wow! I hope I have that much of a positive spirit if I'm ever in the same situation. I'm so glad Parker got to meet his great-grandmother on our first trip to see our families after he was born. When she met him, she told us that she thought we should keep him!
I know I speak on behalf of the entire Petty family when I say we'll miss her, but I also know we're so excited for where she is now. Thank you God, for your promise of eternal life to those who love you and have accepted your Son!
