Tonsils, adenoids, and tubes

Yep, he got the ENT works!

We had to be there at 5:30. He woke up at 4 ready to go!
He was really happy in the pre-op room!
The surgery went without a hitch! He even slept soundly in recovery.

Happy Easter

In the interest of full disclosure, the only reason he's smiling here is because I told him he could have M&Ms.
Yesterday we went to our church's Easter Egg hunt. He found exactly 2 eggs. Yep, 2. His goal was 3 going in to it, so he almost made it.
Egg #1
 Egg #2
After Egg #2, he discovered the bouncy houses. At that point, egg hunting was the last thing on his mind.

Encouraging words from a complete stranger

I was off work today, but Phillip wasn't. So Parker and I headed "into town" (as we like to say) to pick up some new clothes and grab a cupcake (as a reward for trying to use the potty to go #2-it's still a battle). Anyway, we were in Belk and Parker was behaving like a typical two-almost-three year old. He almost climbed all over the bench in the dressing room, repeatedly slammed the dressing room door, and begged to go up and down the escalator. He almost knocked down a manican, but I caught it just in time and didn't realize the store manager was watching. He nicely said, "Good save, Mom." to which I explained for about the third time, "I usually don't bring him with me, but Daddy had to work today." When we were in the line to check out, Parker was being pretty whiney. A sweet lady beside me asked how old he was. Then she said the sweetest words, "Hang in there. You're doing a great job." That's what I needed to hear. No judgmental looks or criticism, just a sweet, "Hang in there."

Single car garage

Yesterday, I built a "garage" for Parker to park his truck. Don't judge my lego-building skills.
Although it's only a single car garage, I thought it might be a good alternative to this one...
I guess the cars had to wait in line for their turn to park. He said, "See the traffic?"

A new favorite game

Poppa gave Parker a piggy bank full of quarters, and P loves "counting" them. He asks for his "piggy" and then he dumps out all the quarters and puts them back in the jar. Seriously, you'd think this child didn't have any other toys. This keeps his attention for 20 minutes or sometimes longer.

In case anyone ever wonders what Tulip does approximately 20 plus hours of the day....this is it.

Keep on Truckin'

We went to Mid-America today for the Keep on Truckin' event. They had all types of trucks and cars that kids could explore. Parker's favorites were Stinky the garbage truck (he calls all garbage trucks this) and the firetruck.

Some of his favorite things...

...are cars and trains. Please note that the cars are all parked in the "garage" (under the dining room table). And believe me, he notices when you pick them up. It's like he must take out every.single.car he owns and park it.
He's also obsessed with trains. I think his father is partly to blame, I mean thank for that. They drive to the railroad tracks that are near the house and park to wait for trains. Yes, you read that correctly..they've found a place to pull off and park. They sit there and wait. Yes, he's absolutely spoiled rotten. No wonder he's such a daddy's boy. They also swing by the fire station while they're out so they can view the firetrucks.
One last thing before I forget. At bedtime tonight, he found his drum set and pulled it out of the closet. I told him no, that it was time to go to bed. He said, "No, Mommy. I've got to do my rock band." Huh? Where in the world? He also threw the drum sticks when he was finished playing and I asked him where he learned to do that. His response, "Billy does that." No clue who Billy is. Oh, and last week Phillip told him he was going to stay with Aunt Mere while we went on a date, and he said, "Aunt Mere's so cute!" He's also said the same thing about his pediatrician. I know he's heard me say it alot, and it's so funny because he means it as a compliment.
