Just playing

This is my excited face! Look at this expression, this is what he does now when he's excited. He starts bouncing up and down and making this expression!

My new favorite game is pulling the coffee table drawer out (over and over and over again). I don't want to go straight for the drawer, so I try to trick my mom by making her think I'm going to play with my millions of toys. I start by playing with my spinning toy.
Then I discover my stacking toy (minus the stacking rings), so I start playing with both of them.

I finally narrow it down to my stacking toy!

I get tired of playing with my stacking toy, so I flop over to my stomach and start making my way toward my drawer! I try to smile really big so my mom gets distracted and doesn't realize what I'm going for!

I finally make it to the drawer!

I reach so hard for it that it makes me fall over on my back!

Then finally I pull the drawer all the way out and hide! If I can't see my mom, she can't see me, right?

9 months old!

Happy nine months, baby boy! Wow! Nine months has really gotten to me more than any other month. I am still amazed by you every single day!

You are truly a happy, happy baby boy! You are very outgoing and pretty easy to please. One comment I've gotten is "He's easy to be around." You are still going to bed around 7 or so; the later we let you stay up, the worse you sleep. So, no more 8 o'clock bedtimes for you!
You are a pro at the army crawl. You're getting better at getting up on your knees, but still army/inchworming it all over the house! You now will follow us from room to room. I was running your bath water last night, so I put you in your room to play. I went back to check on you, and you were on your way to find me. You followed me the rest of the way into the bathroom. (As I type this, you're crawling around under the kitchen table.)

You LOVE cords. It's so weird...you can find a cord from a mile away. Lamp cords are your favorite. You get your eye on one then it's a race to get to it.

You are talking up a storm. "Da" is your favorite word, and you mainly say "Ma" when you're being fussy. Go figure. You make other words, too, but I am not sure what you're saying! Oh, and it's really cute when you "whisper".

You're still eating really well-nurse in the morning then about 3 bottles, sometimes 4. You will eat pretty much anything, and you're still figuring out how to "chew" foods. Oh, and you're not so sure about the whole self-feeding thing. You get about 10 puffs in your fist and then you don't ever put them in your mouth. I'm sure you'll get it eventually.

You're growing and changing every single day!

We love you, Mr. Man!

Cousin birthday party!

Last weekend we celebrated Emma and Gavin's birthdays. Emma turned 2 and Gavin turned 4. Parker had a great time playing with all his cousins! He sat/rolled/played in the middle of the living room floor and let all the kids run around him. It didn't faze him at all!

All the kiddos-Gavin, Grace, Emma, Dovie, Parker, Lily, and Abby (except Lila)

Lately...

When Parker was 2 weeks old, I discovered that he loved the sound of the vacuum cleaner. I had always heard that the vacuum was a sound you could use to soothe crying babies, and I'd even seen it work firsthand on my niece and a friend. I was desperate one day right after he was born, so I decided to try it. As soon as I tried it, I could visibly see his tiny body relax. So, we got used to watching tv with the vacuum on, sleeping with it on, etc. Finally, we decided that it would be much cheaper if we could just copy the sound of the vacuum as opposed to burning it up and having to replace it. We actually found a copy of a vacuum cleaner on cd and ordered it. Parker slept to that sound until right after Christmas! Anyway, long story short, he still likes the sound of the vacuum. He also likes to play with the vacuum cord. I had the vacuum in the hall the other day, and he was in the living room playing with the cord. He followed the cord all the way into the hall and sat there and played with the vacuum for a long time.
Hey, I never said my child was normal.

Notice the placement of Tulip's food and water bowl on the 2nd shelf. Yep, that's right-he discovered them and really had fun splashing her water all over the floor!

He loves it when someone walks behind him! It's so funny! He just loses it and starts jumping up and down.
He's also discovered his video monitor. We have it propped up on the ledge of his crib, and now he likes to pull it down and chew on it. Phillip said he looked over the other day and all he could see was nostrils in the monitor part. We're brainstorming a creative way to hang it without it looking silly on the wall.

Superbowl Sunday

Peyton, Chase, Parker, Shelby, and Truett

We had a great time at the Bolding's superbowl party. Of course, none of the women and children really paid attention to the game! We had fun visiting! It was really difficult to get a good pic of all the "little kids". You can kind of see baby Truett in the back of the top pic! Of course, my adhd kid is playing with a toy the entire time and not paying attention to the camera!

Another Snow day!

Parker Petty, dragon slayer

Attention ladies,
Just call me Parker Petty, dragon slayer. :) Yes, if you look closely, it is a prince slaying a dragon smocked on his outfit. I must say, he looked precious for church yesterday!
