I get it!

That's what he'd say when he did this repeatedly this morning..."I get it!"

Lately...

You've been up to alot of stuff lately! Here's a quick recap....

You have discovered lots of new places to climb!

You figured out how much fun it is to take your train and make it go down the driveway. You let it get right to the edge of the curb because you know you can't get in the street.

This provides alot of uninterrupted fun!

You're really into cars lately...you'll drive them and line them up and park them all over the house.

Your daddy and I celebrated our 7th wedding anniversary. Aunt Mere kept you while we had a date!

Oh no! What happened?

Look at this face...doesn't it just exude "innocence"? I mean, look how precious he is in his "hutball" outfit after church. So sweet....

Well, let's go back in time...
This is him before church..notice he only has on a turtleneck because he now has to be dressed in shifts because he won't stay still long enough to get all his clothes on. He discovered these cups in the cabinet and decided to practice his stacking skills.

And this is even earlier this morning..he's "loving" on Tulip. He was saying, "Hey, Tuwip! 'Hat's a doin?" Now, this is after he got mad at her for trying to steal his breakfast...and after he decided to give her part of his breakfast, but ONLY after he yelled at her first. Then when he decided he didn't want the rest, he handed it to her and said, "Here, Tuwip!" with a big smile on his face.

This was Friday night..he dumped all her food into the floor and said, "Oh no! What happened?" This is his favorite phrase right now. The best part about it is that he says it after he does something on purpose.
He at least tried to help by picking it up and putting it back in the bowl...when he got some back in the bowl, he dumped it AGAIN! That was when I intervened with the broom. I kind of felt bad for Tulip for a minute, until I realized she annoys him every time he has food, so I figure she deserves it.

Fun things..

I just wanted to post a few fun things you're doing/saying lately:
  • When you bring me something you think I might want, (like all my pajamas out of my drawer) you hand it to me and say, "'ere you go, Mommy!" in a very sweet voice. You are so proud of yourself when you do this.
  • When you see something you'll say, "Hey, ______! 'hat's a doin?" Last night, you said, "Hey, rain! 'hat's a doin'? It is adorable.
  • You fuss at Tulip now when she's getting on your nerves. You'll say, "No, Tu-tu! Out! Move!" and then if I put her outside, you'll say, "Bye-bye, Tu-tu" in a really sweet voice like you're just telling her bye for fun, not like you're mad at her.
  • You recognize letters. I am not exaggerating. Just now, you said, "Where'd A go?" and you found it on the keyboard. You like to play a game online where you push a letter on the keyboard and it calls the letter and tells you an animal that begins with that letter. You'd play it all day if I'd let you. You'll say the letter first, press it on the keyboard, and then listen to it. You'll say, "I want K" (or whatever letter you want) and then you'll find it on the computer.
  • This evening you dropped a magnet from the fridge and leaned down to get it. While you leaned down, you said, "I fix it!"
  • You love two words right now-washing machine and release. When you hear the "achine" in the laundry room, you get really still to listen. You also LOVE it when we tell Tulip to "release" a toy. Seriously, you crack up every time.
  • You are definitely testing your boundaries. I won't expound on that, but let's just say you've hit a challenging age....
  • We love you more than life itself.

You know it's been a long morning when...

Your child comes home from church looking like this....
I guess my first indication should have been the 3 dirty diapers he had before we even left the house at 8:15...or the fact that he pooped in the shower this morning.....you'd think that would prompt me to put a change of clothes in his diaper bag...oh well! Good thing the sun was shining nice and brightly!

To Matt, Sarah, and Zane

Dear Bells,
Lately Parker's really been into the song "5 Little Monkeys Jumping on the Bed" (I start at 5 instead of 10 which takes too long.) Anyway, sometimes I'll substitute people's names for the word "monkeys". Tonight I substituted Zane's name...it went something like this, "5 little monkeys jumping on the bed, one fell off and bumped his head, Mama called the dr. and the dr. said, 'No more Zane-o's jumping on the bed." Well, that started something. After that verse he said, "Want Zane", so I sang it again with Zane's name. Then he said, "Want Shara", so we sang, "Sarah and Zane jumping on the bed, Sarah fell off and bumped her head, Zane called the dr. and Matt said, 'No more Sarah jumping on the bed'. Well, that led to "Want Matt" so we sang where all three were jumping on the bed. As I'm trying to sing this seriously to him, all I could do was get a mental image of the three of you jumping on the bed. When Matt fell off and bumped his head, I inserted, "That is really likely to actually happen, buddy."
This version went on for several verses.
Love you all and we need to play soon.

Quirks

One for each hand...

Here he was pretending this was a car. He'd say, "Bye-bye, Mama." over and over again...

Because you might as well be comfortable while you study...

He couldn't decide between strawberry or mixed berry, so I guess he needed to study the ingredients in order to make an informed decision....

I know most kids like to read while they're on the toilet, but if you look closely, you'll notice that Parker is fully clothed here...guess he thought it made a good seat.
