I have been really bad about keeping up the blog, so I want to take a quick post to highlight Parker. It seems like lately he's been really changing and growing. He loves watching Cars and Polar Express. When he wakes up in the morning he'll say, "That twain woke that boy up. And he opened the door and went to the twain. That twain not wake me up." To which I try to explain that we NEVER open the door unless Mommy and Daddy are with us. I mean, am I the only parent who thinks that it's probably not a good idea to give kids that idea? The kid seriously just opens up the door and gets on a train with complete strangers. Moving on.
He's become very possessive of Tulip. I put her outside during dinner the other day, and he became very angry. He said, "Tulip needs to come inside!" Over and over again. When I kick her off the bed, he'll say, "Tulip just wants to cuddle." He's been wanting her to sleep in his room a lot. I usually force her to stay in there and then go get her once he's fallen asleep.
He's also become very aware of who the "boss" is. I have to remind him that it's his babysitter's job to get on to the other children. (I seriously have no idea where he gets his bossiness.) I will admit that I got into a slight argument with him last night because he told me it wasn't my job to get on to him that it was Ms. Vickie's. Yep. Still working on explaining that Daddy and I are the bosses at our home.
Speaking of his daddy, since Phillip is home more now, he's become quite the Daddy's boy.
Some other favorite sayings: "I want to go to a westauwant." This is usually said on a daily basis.
-"I want something special"-i.e. a special food treat. Sweets are generally called "something special".
And when he asks a question, he never frames it as a question. He always states it as a sentence, but he says it in a questioning tone.
He's really at a fun age right now. The conversations we have with him are priceless. I wish I could record them all.
